Hi, I'm Olga, founder of Backly.

I've spent hundreds of hours speaking to beauticians, speaking to clients, sharing my insights on the beauty industry and understanding how beauty businesses operate behind the scenes.

And I came to one realisation:

A lot of beauticians are forced to be both the person and the system.

When I think of systems, I think of machines. Things that run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without stopping.

Beauticians are not machines.

They shouldn't have to be the entire system.

I've spoken to beauticians who work up to 14 hour days, including admin. I've spoken to beauticians who work 7 days a week. The majority of the beauticians I've spoken to have said they struggle to switch off. They feel like they always have to be available and that there's always something waiting for them to do.

The hard work beauticians put into keeping their businesses running and their clients happy often goes unacknowledged.

Beauticians shouldn't feel like everything will pause, pile up or collapse the moment they step away from work.

Backly specifically focuses on client enquiries because it was one of the biggest time drains beauticians consistently mentioned to me. It was something they had to do every day. No one enjoys repeating themselves all day (I sure know I don't!)

What I've realised is that no matter how much information you put on your booking site, clients will still have questions.

They want reassurance.

They want guidance.

They want clarity.

And before Backly, the only way they could get that is through the beautician.

That means interruptions between appointments, after work, on holiday, on your day off and everywhere in between.

I believe you can love your clients and still need space from your business too.

Additionally, beauticians deserve tools that actually understands them, their industry and how they work.

That's exactly why Backly exists.

Today, Backly has answered over 1,000 client questions across the UK, US and Canada.

Clients are getting their answers without waiting for a response. Beauticians are getting their time back and aren't repeating themselves all day

Which was the goal all along.
